Mercedes Electric C-Class pricing is now official as Mercedes-Benz prepares to expand its next-generation electric sedan lineup with longer-range and more affordable variants.
The company unveiled pricing for the dual-motor C400 4Matic in Germany this week while confirming that additional versions will follow. The electric sedan starts at €67,711, making it notably more expensive than the combustion-powered C-Class.
Mercedes is positioning the EV as a natural extension of its traditional sedan lineup rather than a niche electric alternative. However, its technology, pricing and range ambitions place it firmly in the fast-growing premium EV market.
The automaker also revealed plans for a future single-motor rear-wheel-drive version capable of delivering around 497 miles, or 800 kilometers, under the WLTP testing cycle.
Mercedes Electric C-Class Pushes EV Range Higher
The upcoming rear-wheel-drive model would offer more range than the currently announced C400 4Matic, which carries a WLTP rating of 473 miles, or 762 kilometers.
Although WLTP figures are generally more generous than U.S. EPA estimates, analysts still expect the future Mercedes Electric C-Class to comfortably exceed 400 miles of EPA-equivalent range if it eventually launches in North America.
That growing range capability reflects a wider trend in the luxury EV market. Premium automakers increasingly see 400 miles as the new benchmark for electric sedans.
Even so, Mercedes still faces strong competition from BMW. The BMW i3 reportedly delivers up to 559 miles, or 900 kilometers, on a single charge in dual-motor form because of its larger battery system.
Industry observers believe a future single-motor BMW i3 could potentially exceed 600 miles of range.
Still, the rear-wheel-drive Mercedes Electric C-Class may become the company’s most important model because of its expected balance between affordability, efficiency and practicality.

Luxury Features Push Mercedes Pricing Higher
The current C400 4Matic combines strong acceleration with long-distance capability. The sedan reaches 62 mph from a standstill in just four seconds, placing it among the quicker luxury EV sedans on the market.
However, optional upgrades can significantly increase the final price.
The AMG Line package adds €3,451 and replaces the standard 18-inch wheels with more aggressive 19-inch AMG aero wheels. It also introduces sportier bumpers and redesigned side skirts.
Buyers seeking sports seats must move up to the AMG Line Plus package, which costs €7,556. That version includes additional AMG styling details and upgraded wheel designs.
Technology features also raise the cost quickly. The optional MBUX Hyperscreen, a 39.1-inch pillar-to-pillar display replacing the standard three-screen setup, adds another €1,487.
Meanwhile, the augmented reality head-up display costs an extra €1,249.
Mercedes Electric C-Class Adds Advanced Driving Tech
One of the most significant upgrades may be the Agility and Comfort Package.
Priced at €2,844, the package introduces air suspension and rear-wheel steering. Early impressions suggest the setup dramatically improves both ride quality and handling dynamics.
Rear-wheel steering could prove especially useful in city driving, where heavier EV sedans can sometimes feel less agile because of battery weight.
A fully equipped Mercedes Electric C-Class can easily exceed €96,000 before taxes and market-specific costs.
Mercedes is also preparing more powerful variants, including a future AMG version expected to rival high-performance electric sedans from BMW.
Reports indicate the flagship AMG model could feature a tri-motor setup delivering around 800 horsepower.
Luxury EV Competition Continues Intensifying
The Mercedes Electric C-Class enters a luxury EV market that is becoming increasingly competitive.
Automakers are now competing not only on performance and technology but also on efficiency, charging capability and long-distance driving range.
Mercedes appears focused on balancing everyday usability with premium performance. While the current dual-motor C400 targets buyers seeking strong acceleration, the upcoming single-motor version could attract drivers prioritising efficiency and extended range.
As battery technology improves and charging infrastructure expands globally, long-range luxury EVs are becoming central to the future strategies of premium carmakers.
For Mercedes, the electric C-Class represents more than another EV launch. It reflects how traditional luxury sedans are evolving into connected, software-focused electric vehicles designed to compete directly with future offerings from BMW, Lucid, Tesla and other emerging EV rivals.
