Entrepreneur Runs Company Entirely with AI Agents

Anxiety over job losses to artificial intelligence is no longer theoretical—and one entrepreneur’s experiment shows just how far automation can go. Specifically, Aaron Sneed, a Florida-based defense-tech founder, now runs his entire company using AI agents in business, assigning critical roles like HR, legal, supply chain, communications, quality control, and data management to specialized AI systems.

“I created what I call ‘The Council,’” Sneed told Business Insider. “It helps me save around 20 hours a week—and that’s a conservative estimate.” His “Council” consists of about 15 AI agents, each trained for a specific function. Moreover, at its core, a chief-of-staff agent prioritizes tasks and ensures high-stakes areas—like compliance, security, and legal—are addressed first.

For Sneed, who launched the venture as a solo founder, AI isn’t just convenient—it’s essential. “Without it, I couldn’t operate at this scale alone,” he said. Therefore, AI agents in business have become his operational backbone.

His journey into full AI delegation stems from over a decade of work with autonomous systems. Consequently, that experience made him an early adopter of commercial large language models. Using OpenAI’s ChatGPT business platform and Nvidia hardware, he built a system where AI agents don’t just execute commands—they challenge assumptions, analyze proposals, and offer constructive feedback.

“I trained my AI agents to push back and not just say ‘yes,’” Sneed explained. “I want them to test my theories and help me see blind spots.” In this way, they act as critical thinking partners—not passive tools.

These agents convene in virtual roundtables, collectively reviewing documents and proposals. As a result, this collaborative approach reduces errors and closes knowledge gaps. Each agent undergoes roughly two weeks of intensive training before reaching Sneed’s performance standard. Once operational, they handle workloads that would typically require a full team.

Beyond efficiency, the system has sharpened Sneed’s own skills. “The models have improved, and so has my prompting,” he noted. Furthermore, “I’ve learned to structure priorities and provide better context—so the outputs are accurate and actionable.”

In his view, AI acts less like a tool and more like a collaborator—one that multiplies his capacity as a one-person operation. Thus, AI agents in business amplify human potential rather than merely replace it.

However, Sneed acknowledges clear limits. Despite their sophistication, AI agents in business cannot replace human judgment in critical domains. For example, his legal AI drafts contracts and processes data—but final decisions still require a licensed lawyer.

“Even when my agent seems correct, it won’t replace a lawyer’s human context, experience, and intuition,” he admitted. Hence, certain roles remain irreplaceably human.

Looking ahead, Sneed envisions a hybrid workplace: humans working alongside AI “chiefs of staff” that manage routine tasks. This setup would free people to focus on strategy, oversight, and complex problem-solving. Although he has not announced plans to hire human employees soon, the model suggests a new paradigm.

His story underscores a growing reality: AI will likely eliminate many traditional roles, leaving only highly skilled workers with stable opportunities. While this future may seem unsettling, it also demands new thinking about education, reskilling, and the evolving definition of work itself. Ultimately, only time will tell how society adapts—but the shift is already underway.
